No, the original was by Berlin (1986) for the movie "Top Gun". It's been covered a couple times in the last decade as well.

Emi is correct. Interestingly, there were two versions of this song released. The original by Berlin is pretty raw and band-like, but the more heavily produced version was the one which made the movie and subsequently, got all the airplay.

Oooh! Nice singing! Makes me almost forget that I'm unemployed. No, wait, it actually reminds me of how extremely unemployed I am right now. I LOVE being unemployed! Great song!

Hilarious! And way too real, since my wife and I are now both victims of corporate cutbacks. (By the way, what is the song being parodied here? I know it, but my feeble brain can't remember what it is.)
