This song isn't about them.

It's about the rest of us. You know, who should never have been hired in the first place.

Singer Mercy Malick, who made her FuMP debut here, stars as Sisyphus Employee of the Month. Thanks to Connie Armstrong for playing news anchor, and apologies to Terri Nunn, Berlin and Giorgio "it still needs more reverb" Moroder.

As someone who was downsized (site closure, the work I did was moved to China) and out of work for most of 2006, I can relate with this song.

No, the original was by Berlin (1986) for the movie "Top Gun". It's been covered a couple times in the last decade as well.

Emi is correct. Interestingly, there were two versions of this song released. The original by Berlin is pretty raw and band-like, but the more heavily produced version was the one which made the movie and subsequently, got all the airplay.

Oooh! Nice singing! Makes me almost forget that I'm unemployed. No, wait, it actually reminds me of how extremely unemployed I am right now. I LOVE being unemployed! Great song!
