Valentine's Day is right around the corner, and lovers, the song title alone explains this one!
The Seamonkeys live scant miles from Kelly Clarkson's homestead and the Seamonkette used to compete against her in high school choir competitions, so this parody of Miss American Idol's "Breakaway" was simply fated to happen!
With tantalizing vocals by Seamonkette and majestic instrumentation by the boys at Turnidoff Productions, "Fakeaway" or "When Seamonkey met Kelly" will have you squealing with pleasure in no time!
PS - The Seamonkey is still laid... off. Try the High Quality download today for only .99 cents and make the Seamonkey PAY...a bill!!!

Please forgive me as I discovered I uploaded a flawed mixdown. I'm correcting that right now so the correct mix is uploaded! So solly!!

Great song!! (Even though I don't know the parodied song, since I don't watch American Idol.) And I'm also a long-time member (over a year now) of the "Laid-Off Club".

The song brought a nervous smile to me. She has a great voice.

So I decided to read the lyrics on your website rather than here, because they're much more legible. And somehow, those managed to be even more unsettling. I need a shower.

I've had this song stuck in my head since you posted it. Nice job! And nice job making me think about your wife in bed.

Is the Seamonkette in this video Carla Ulbrich?
DJ Particle - Feb 9, 2009
Seamonkette is his wife. Apparently I hear their live performance of "Love Shaft" at Con on the Cob was quite...different *heh* :)

Ugh, this is what i get for going online after i wake up....first its not a video, and 2nd, carla was not my guess. Its a song and my guess was supposed to be *Carrie Dahlby*.

Yes! Yes! OH GOD YES!!!

Seamonkey is the TRUTH that this world needs to hear! This sounds really great. You better get your ass to Marscon next year!

I see a new starlet on the rise of The FuMP ranks. It's kind of like Sonny and Cher, which would give a new meaning to "Nitty Gritty Hour".

I know if MY wife sang this convincingly about faking orgasms, I'd be worried.

Rofl. Jolly good song.

Not as squick as it could be. Superb vocals Seamonkette, killer music PossCar and not-as-squik-as-they-could-be lyrics...Seamonkey? Were you the scribe of this here love song? Just what exactly what DID you do for the song....or do we want to know all the details?
seamonkey - Feb 16, 2009
I wrote this one intentionally as non-squick as the point comes across nicely and it fits the song's protagonist's personality better, which in my mind is a bit prudish.
I wrote the lyrics, recorded and mixed the vox and did post-production on it. You just don't hear me (and don't want to) on this one.
P.S. If I didn't write it you won't see my name on it or I'll tell ya (like the Spaff penned tune I hope to do soon). I won't pigeon-hole myself to squick-only either... gotta keep you FuMPers on yer toes.
Molakwae - Feb 18, 2009
Amazingly funny, in "I hope that's not my wife's situation" way. PS. Played it to my wife, and she laughed to tears. I may need a hug.
