Tom Smith Cthulhu Fthagn
featuring the great Luke Ski
It may SAY Tom Smith up there, but in reality it's Tom Smith AND The Great Luke Ski! Here's the skinny: Tom wrote this parody back in 2002...yes, he knows that "fhtagn" is misspelled, it's much easier to sing this way... and he and Luke have sung it a lot. We figured that, in the best Disney marketing tradition, it was time for a Special Platinum Commemorative 7-1/3rd Anniversary Limited Remastered High-Definition Audiophile Edition With Ice Cream And Sprinkles On Top. But, since we haven't been able to successfully digitize ice cream and sprinkles, this is all we got. First thing was to ACTUALLY PLAY IT IN THE CORRECT KEY WITH THE CORRECT CHORDS. Radical, we know, but, hey, we stop at nothing to make you nice folks happy. We also threw in a few new jokes, including Luke's marvelous shtick at the end -- everything after the last chord hit is all his idea. The end result is a classic of something or other, we're sure. And it allows Luke to keep his streak alive -- he's had a FuMP song every single month The FuMP has existed!

This song is now available on the following CDs:

I always loved this song. I'll have to teach it to my kids.

The new ending is PERFECT! Overall a great rendition, definitely an improvement over the previous great rendition (or shall I say, the Great Old One?)!

I had a Shoggoth and he'd please me, but he sang Fthagn with Luke Ski. ...it hurts.

This is a great sounding tune... but I have no idea what it's about, guess I'm not geeky enough.

We'll have to work on that, d-m. Start here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Call_of_Cthulhu and then go here: http://www.dagonbytes.com/thelibrary/lovecraft/thecallofcthulhu.htm

This was the first song I ever heard from Tom or Luke, on a panel at MidSouthCon. It's just as great now as it was then, thanks guys.

I love the new ending to the song :-)

All I could think of now is "Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice"! But I'm guessing, unschooled as I am in this subject, that Cthulhu has WAY more street cred. Good job you two....you should collaborate more often.

I heard this once. Many moons ago. I'm so glad the stars have aligned again for the chanting.... uh... of this song! Great song!

Great song. H.P. Lovecraft is smiling somewhere.
