Phil Ward

Phil was the keyboardist for the 90s LA rock group The High Lonesome; it’s unclear why he then took up the acoustic guitar and started being funny, but it happened, so here we are. He’s played his humorous, folky songs at comedy and music venues all over Southern California and elsewhere, including Vancouver B.C. and floating in the Caribbean. He’s been heard on the radio here and there, including The Dr. Demento Show, and he releases albums on the Trough Records label (www.trough.com). Currently he can be seen on PBS stations around the country, using song to woo you to donate your vehicle to public TV. He was first featured on The Funny Music Podcast as the co-writer of Brian Woodbury's song Jury Duty (https://brianwoodbury.bandcamp.com/track/jury-duty). His favorite review came from the Pasadena Star-News: "Like listening to set-to-music entries from an obsessive-compulsive's diary...a really funny one."
