The FuMP

Lyrics

I will admit we have a touchy situation,
But like every other problem, there's a way to work it out...
I think the key lies in our poor communication skills,
When we should talk or listen, instead somehow we both shout,

But... I don't think the blame's entirely mine.
If you'd shut up til I've eaten I think we would both be fine...

First I'm hungry and you're talking,
Then I'm angry and you're balking,
Then we're screaming and you're walking,
And you just can't see...
That I'm HANGRY...
HUNGRY/ANGRY...
Hangry-- leave me alone... Until I get some kibble in me.

I will admit that it has caused some inconvenience.
Into every sunny day a little rain must fall...
I will admit I might have ruined your sister's wedding
But I hadn't eaten all day and you wanted to talk.

And... I had to wait through that reception line
And we couldn't hit a drive through and still make it there on time...

It's not like I don't love you or don't recognize the problem,
And it's not like I'm dismissive as a matter of course...
I keep corn chips at my work desk and granola in my glove box
Since I worked through lunch that one time and we almost divorced.
And It's not like I'm a douchebag and it's not like you're a bitch,
It's just that I like you better when I've had a sandwich
