Title
All I Wanna Do Is Play Games
“All I Wanna Do Is Play Games” is a comedy song for anyone who has ever looked at everything they were supposed to accomplish that day and thought, “Yeah... but I could play a game instead.” It’s about that eternal battle between responsibility and the much more appealing prospect of just one more level, one more match, or one more turn.
Written by longtime game developer John C. Ardussi, the song is the title track from Perky Pete & The Mechanics’ debut album and part of the musical world of the comedy series in development Game Mechanics.
Written and composed by John C. Ardussi.
Vocals by Volodymyr Bielik.
Music produced by NINE STUDIO.

Its roots are from a Dr Demento played song, "All I Wanna Do Is Drink Beer", 40 some years ago. To get the whole story, check out the podcast.

Welcome to the FuMP, John! I found Michael Steven Peace’s “All I Wanna Do Is Drink Beer” on YouTube, but like Gavin, I can’t find it in the dmdb.org search. Mike Peace has other songs listed, however. Maybe you had his album…? Paging Jeff Morris!

Maybe I got it wrong. He has other songs that include bumpers from the Dr Demento show on YouTube. I heard it somewhere in the 80s. I may have projected that it was on the show. I'll ask him. Here is his Facebook link: https://www.facebook.com/michael.peace.37 He would love to hear from fans.

He said he doesn't remember it being on Dr Demento. I guess my mind just made it up. But it worked out. The song is definitely on YouTube. I also have a playlist of my songs from the album on YouTube: https://youtu.be/az6zFEBOZ-g?si=WNktyh084C0WGaOQ

Thanks for checking with him. It's probably fun for him to hear that his songs are being discussed in a funny music forum. (At least it would be for me.)

Yeah. It is amazing how being rediscovered has brought him out. He is posting memories on Facebook almost daily. He has been through a lot. I am glad I can be a positive energy for him. It is amazing how much positive can come from a thumbs up on a video.

Ha ha reminds me of my son Jeff who would hide his video games and the remote under his desk with an essay in the other hand to trick me. I had to yank the video games away from him cause he wouldn’t finish the essays in middle school til after midnight. And grounded him. He was allowed only to play them on the weekend. The pic looks like him haha. Great job on this song.

Thanks! I think there is a little of it in all of us. At least there is for me.
