Just released today at Luke Ski dot com is "Greatest Hits Volume 1: 1996-2003",
a 2 CD set covering the first half of my career. It has 40 tracks,
including "Stealing Like A Hobbit", "Peter Parker", "Insane And The
Brain", "Kenny Was A Kid From South Park", "House Party At Arkham
Asylum", "It's A Fanboy Christmas", and many more that made Dr.
Demento's Funny Five countdowns. For this set I decided to take 2 songs
from that era and give them a serious upgrade, both of which will be
posted at the FuMP dot com, one now, the other next month. First up,
one of my most popular songs, my ode to unapologetic geeks everywhere,
"Fanboy", a parody of Kid Rock's "Cowboy", originally written and
released in the year 2000. Now that it's 2010, it was way overdue to
get a 10th Anniversary ass-whuppin' musical overhaul courtesy of Jared Ringold of Possible Oscar,
with back-up vocals by the ever-pink Carrie
Dahlby. So while the references may be dated, that bootprint in
your posterior is fresh. Heh, funny hip-hop songs about nerd culture.
Who knew? *wink!*

Excellent upgrade to the song. I am surprised you did not try to add any newer fanboy references as part of the update, although all of the existing ones still work.

I agree with Wild Card...excellent update to one of your "classics", but I'm surprised you didn't make it more "current" (tho, as we always say..."shows come and go, but fandom is forever")

Uh ... how do you know that it covers the first half of your career, if you career isn't over yet? 8^)

The reference to Bender is actually less dated than it would have been a couple of years ago, because of the return of Futurama next month on a day which happens to be my birthday.

It was fun being part of the definitive version of one of my favorite Luke Ski songs. :)
