Almost as Dumb as “Peeing in my Pants.” On cd 40 . Worth buying it. We love Dumb songs. Jerry Lewis RIP would agree but when I hear this song and few others and his crazy songs like this performed live , I somehow believe that Steve is the new Jerry Lewis reincarnated.

Four words by four lyricists?! That's not enough collaborators! Give me a call next time and I'll be happy to pitch in some, like, punctuation or something.

Don't take this the wrong way, I see the humor in this, but it also traumatized me. Okay, explanation. I've had dreams like this since childhood, where a song suddenly ends with someone saying something very loudly, so it could start really happy, like maybe a kid singing about how he wants to play and dance and sing, and it's a really happy song, and the song will end with his father angrily shouting "NO!" In the middle of the verse! The song doesn't even get to end! And this song sounds exactly like how the songs in my nightmares end. Yet somehow I wouldn't mind hearing this song performed live; maybe a sudden ending with the audience all laughing at the punch line just works better in a performance setting, while on a recording it's like, huge jump scare, and then it's over. And I think about my dreams so much that, as soon as I saw the title, I knew exactly what was going to happen, except maybe the fact that it would end quite that suddenly. It ended so suddenly that it truly feels like one of those songs from my nightmares. So though I probably won't be downloading this, I'm sure it feels a lot different to experience this song during a concert. But yeah, that beautiful beginning with a sudden loud ending, I've been having dreams like that since childhood, and I never had a more panicked reaction to a song in my life. But I'm aware my situation is unique; not too many people have dreams quite like that, let alone multiple memorable ones. Okay, the concept of the song is hilarious, but I guess the punch line was delivered with such volume and force that it almost made me knock the headphones off; I'm guessing if it was Luke doing a Frink voice, it wouldn't have had that much volume to knock me out of my seat; the sudden ending would have been shocking, but not absolutely frightening. But you delivered this one with such volume that I really really really hope I don't dream about it tonight! Or, ever!

Hey Devo... is the above comment the longest comment in fump history? For the shortest song in fump history?
Dr. Demento Fan Account - Aug 17, 2026
I love this lol.
Sdubow - Aug 18, 2026
Referring to the longest comment in FUMP history about the shortest song on ur CD 40 ..maybe u need additional commentaries on all the other longer songs too ,as an extra bonus to be part of the next cd pressing.. when one purchases that cd. A Bonus commentaries mini booklet . Boy alot of thought and analysis went into that short song. And It has forced me to open my ears more carefully and analytically and look at that song in a completely different way.
Tzahnke - Aug 19, 2026
I guess that's because I'm about to graduate with a music degree, so I get quite analytical. I'm slowly warming up to the song now that I know what to expect, but yeah, I guess a jump scare can go a long way sometimes, hence the longest comment for the shortest song.
Sdubow - Aug 19, 2026
Entirely possible then that “Jerry Lewis sings Led Zeppelin analyzed in depth could appear as a citation in a graduate music thesis .

La la la nice lady
Tzahnke - Aug 19, 2026
Oh don't worry, I'm just a community college session musician, I'm sure the idea of writing a thesis would have me hiding under a table way faster than that song!

Probably.

I mean, who knows?
Spaff.com - Sep 1, 2026
Did you want exactly 27 comments as some sort of weird Weird Al reference? If so, I just deliberately fucked it up because I’m jealous you went to Edinburgh Fringe. Now, to bring it back to 27, you’ll have to delete one of your “[deleted]” comments.
HAHAHA, he says, twirling his mustache.

I wish it were that easy!

I'm having an issue downloading both versions of the song. It's an empty file.
devospice - Aug 14, 2026
Try it now. Should be working.
Alverant - Aug 14, 2026
Confirmed. Thank you. (Sorry, I tried downloading before I heard the podcast episode.)
