So, in case you've forgotten, in 2008, there was this US presidential election thing.
John McCain clinched the Republican nomination on March 4, and Repubs were able to rally around him while gleefully watching the Democratic candidates tear each other apart.
By early May it was clear to everyone that Barack Obama was going to defeat Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination. Everyone, that is, but the Clinton camp. She continued to wage an increasingly bitter campaign, arguing passionately against Obama's credentials and appealing the DNC rules that the candidates had been playing by for months. Many of Clinton's supporters even vowed to vote against Obama in the general election were he to win the primary.
On June 3, the day of the final Democratic primaries and three months after McCain won the Republican nomination, Obama secured enough delegate votes to put him well over the needed majority. And Clinton still did not concede.
It was in this atmosphere that this song - a parody of Billy Joel's "She's Always a Woman" - was written and recorded. It went live on the FuMP on June 6 with the note that "Ya gotta love someone who doesn't know when to stop lobbing grenades and start cleaning up shrapnel."
Hillary finally conceded the next day. Some people say it was because of this song. Those people are idiots.

She's persistant, I'll give her that much. I would have cast a vote for her if Obama hadn't bagged the nomination, but he'll be getting a check mark on my ballot come November. I haven't heard the song yet, but thanks Rob and Spaff for keeping us FuMP fans informed of current events. "Keep on rockin' in the free world...."

Weird, it blanked my comment. Anyway, loved the song. Especially liked the "creepy-VP" line. Let's hope not, on the VP thing. Better to just grab her broomstick out of the puddle and take it back to the Wizard now.

Brilliantly done. Kudos.

Nice work guys! I loved that creepy/VP line too, nice going.

There's nothing like a smooth, soft-rock piano ballad to deliver a story about trash-talking, robot-like politicians. The electoral college should consider a Lund/Spaff ticket come November.

This is some funny sh*t. The world can never have too many Billy Joel parodies.

This song is Spaff-tastic!! Great tune, and I love the NY connection with both Hillary and Billy- a nice final bit of irony there ^_^ Rock on Robert Lund!!
