I was listening to the Nerdist
Podcast Episode #131 "Greta's Calling!", when the hosts, Chris
Hardwick, Matt Mira, and Jonah Ray, after mentioning a joke that
a friend of theirs Lee Farber made, began discussing the notion of
Dark Crystal themed song parodies, hitting on one specific song idea.
It inspired me to write and record and film a quick version of that
idea and post it to YouTube. Jonah tweeted about the "Skeksis Back"
video, followed by Chris, who also posted
about it on the Nerdist website, calling the video
"SKEKTACULAR!" I am very happy that my mission was a success, and that
the Nerdist guys and so many others all got such a kick out of it. I
figured I might as well throw the song up on the FuMP for everyone to
download, so here it is. Please check out the
video, download the song, and as they say on Nerdist, "Enjoy your
burrito"!
Music graciously donated by Eric "Seamonkey" Tomme, with puppetry assistance from Sara Trice.

Love the Dark Crystal and the song and video are great!

Awesome, superlative, excellent. And not just because I once had the same kind of idea when I first heard "Sexy Back", but because only Luke could make it better than anything I could have imagined. Love this song.

I still maintain that this is what Luke has always done best- impression based song parodies. He does them extremely well and nobody else does them hardly at all. Almost all of my favorite Luke Ski songs parodies where he's doing impressions.

I second that Devo. Nice work here Luke.

This is such a fantastic song, and I'm really impressed at how quickly you put the whole thing together. As soon as you released the video, I started passing the link around to anyone I could think of, and every one of them loved it. So, allow me to pass on kudos from the anonymous masses (which is usually considered preferable to passing along Cujos from anyone).

Enjoy your burrito! You're welcome for getting you into the Nerdist podcast. ;P

I need to visit FUMP more often. I think even Jim Henson would have liked this -- has a modern Muppet Show vibe to it.

I've told you before, but this is amazing. Well done, well timed, and just hysterical. Awesome.
