This is a song I wrote for the 2010 nationally released album titled "Speed Racer: The SoundTRACK" about a guy who's blurred the line between reality and the fantasy of his favorite childhood cartoon.
I actually liked how this song turned out so much I put it on my latest album "Chimericana", but was unable to share it on the FuMP till recently. So due to some legal unbinding, I am able to share the song with those of you too cheap to buy my album or the Speed Racer album... seriously though, both albums are very well done and you should buy several copies of each.
Vocals: Dino-Mike
Produced, Mixed and Mastered: Bob Emmet

Who didn't want to be Speed Racer?? Heck, I used to wear a white toy crash helmet all of the time. I've since moved on to always wearing ball caps, so I guess that I've moved on from wanting to be Speed to wanting to be Pops.

Great song!! And it's much better than a song I recorded back in 1993, which had Speed Racer competing in a NASCAR race. http://www.nworbcire.com/knowtalent/NASCAR_Speed_Racer.mp3

I thought this was one of your best originals on Chimericana. Lots of cool stuff going on musically, too.

A very fitting tribute to America's favorite racing fashion plate. Glad you were able to put this on the Fump Mike! Are you going to make a video?

I'd love to do a video... but the budget would be a little more than I'm willing to invest... but maybe one day.

I agree with Jace, I thought this was one of the best originals on your last CD. I even saw a copy of this Speed Racer sountrack this is featured on at my local indie record shop!

Once upon a time, I knew all what all the letters on the steering wheel did. Now I can't even remember all the car's functions. Auto-jack, buzz saws, underwater mode, infrared headlights, robot homing pigeon...dammit the buttons went up to G so there must be 2 more. Anyway, thank you for outlining all of the things my mother was afraid I would do if I watched this show. Well done!
