Captain's Log, Stardate -313819.0121448504
I've done many many songs about the Star Trek universe, but I've never done a song that was solely about the characters from the original 1966 TV series. I guess I always figured there were already tons of songs about those guys, so I instead concentrated on making songs about Data, Quark, 7 of 9, Neelix, etcetera. Now with a new prequel film looming, the time finally came for me to boldly go where everybody has gone before.
Background music by the Chief Engineer Emmett of Project Sisyphus. I also want to take a moment to acknowledge the following acts from the FuMP Sideshow, Curt The Camera Guy, C. Roses, Ridikulus, and Insane Ian, who all also did parodies of Rockstar by Nickelback, so please check out their stuff too. And do it soon, because they're coming along on my next mission wearing their brand new red shirts.
Luke out.

BWAHAHAHA! Best parody of "Rockstar" yet! And love the "Shaun of the Dead" reference, not to mention using the old photorp sound effect as a censor bleep... and the bit with the Orion Slave Girl... ohh dear, wrong, wrong, just so wrong... and yet so right! :D

good song, except for the Nickleback bit

This is the best "Rockstar" parody to date, yes indeed.... I loved watching you perform it at MarsCon with a mischievous gleam in your eye. Spock on!

Entertaining poke at old-school Trek, Luke! I can't wait for the movie myself!

Earl screaming "Yo Joe!" is way funnier than it should be.

Devo, I talked with Earl on the phone and told him I wanted to sample his voice saying "Yo Joe!" for a new song, and he said he was fine with it. When the time came to finish up the song, I couldn't isolate his "Yo Joe" enough from the rest of the Nick Atoms music & vocals to make it sound as smooth as I wanted it to within the song. So I ended up doing an impersonation of Earl instead and adding echo & reverb. I hope that doesn't offend Earl or anybody, I just nhad to have that Wyngarde flava, since he was the inspiration for the lyrics of the middle-eight. Long live Speilbay!

I don't look good in red. I think I'll go sign up in the Medbay to work there. *grins* Great parody as usual, loved hearing it at Marscon.
