Always count on Spaff and Lund to be as timely as this!

Hurricane - Nov 4, 2008

Nice- something to listen to while I vote in that booth ^_^

filkertom - Nov 4, 2008

Hee! Great stuff, guys.

mrwompy - Nov 4, 2008

Great song!! (And I'm saying this without being familiar with the "Closing Time" song! Does this mean that I'm becoming more of an old geezer every day?)

MarlinsGirl - Nov 4, 2008

awesome song guys.

TVsKyle - Nov 4, 2008

Listened to it while driving away from the polls. It contributed greatly to my voter's high.

djseamus - Nov 4, 2008

"Voter's high"....nice. I've watched the video for this song on the video page...good job on the song Lund and Spaff. Upon voting for a song parody for Fump President '08, exit polls clearly show a landslide victory for "Voting Time", with "The Tricker of Treats" comming in behind with a close second. (Feel free to make up your own joke for "comming in behind"). \

mrwompy, Closing time is about 10 years old. and i would say that this song is equal to or better than "closing time" cause this one is more true. hah. "Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end. Yeah"

djseamus - Nov 5, 2008

What the - ? "Closing Time" is 10 yrs old? Say it ain't so , Spaff! I remember I was car-pooling to high shcool the morning after Phil Hartman (of SNL fame) died and they played this song on the radio....so I guess I always associate "Closing Time" with the genius that was Phil Hartman. Standing alone without out your brilliant parody, Spaff, I think the original is awesome.

djseamus - Nov 5, 2008

Spaff? Ooops, I meant "say it ain't so Squirreludecker" (Cool name, man).

ProjectSisyphus - Nov 5, 2008

Very clever! Your best political parody since "Men's Room Date," methinks. NIce going!

Spaff.com - Nov 5, 2008

Thank you for the lovely comments, all. Very cool of you. Can we stop obsessing about the elections now? YES WE CAN!

mrwompy: Yes. Yes it does.

djseamus: I should mention that the videos you saw for this and "The Tricker of Treats" (and several others on there) were done by a YouTuber named Ward. I don't really know the guy but I'm flattered that he keeps making videos of Robert Lund songs. I will make a spot for him in my cabinet.

Funny... even a week after the elections. And I actually enjoy this more than the original because Lund's vocals are better, and it's funny too. Some great lyrics there too: "Maybe you're a partisan or maybe you're a little bi" and "Throw out all the bums; it's time for brand - new - bums." Classic.
