Just in time for the end of the year, it's a song about the end of the world! From the new compilation album The FuMP Desecrates Tom Lehrer, this cover of An Evening Wasted with Tom Lehrer's album-closer is my very first comedy music recording in almost a decade - you can't get rid of me that easily. I wanted to do this cover in the style of a New Orleans Jazz band, so naturally I hired a House musician from Seattle, namely Jacob Martin of Close to the Sun. This song has always been one of my favorite Tom Lehrer masterpieces, and it might have even more relevance today, in this uncertain era of climate change, pandemics, genocidal global conflicts and of course all those delightful nuclear missiles we still have lying around somewhere. This one goes out to Hen3ry.
