Ticking away the moments that make up the holidays!
The year we're about to ring in is the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon. ("And then one day you find FIFTY years have got behind you.")
That fact plus the global supply chain crisis have created enormous demand for a Christmas-themed parody of the entire DSOTM album, and we aim to fill that demand. You're welcome.
True story: We plan to complete the album and release it in 2023. On vinyl, of course.
Meanwhile, here is our 5th (6th?) installment, which naturally we're calling Part 1. It's a parody of "Breathe" called "Wreath."
So haul out the holly! And haul these out too:
Part 2: "Cardiac Time" (to "Time")
Part 3: "Frosty" (to "Money")
Part 4: "Red and Green" (to "Us and Them")
Part 5: "Chimney Damage" (to "Brain Damage")
Part 6: "All That and a Bag of Gifts" (to "Eclipse")
Botanophobes:
M. Spaff Sumsion: Concept and lyrics
Craig Marks: Jolliness affidavit
Chris Mezzolesta: Vocals, voices, slide guitar, bass
Bob Emmet: Keyboards (Rhodes & organ), rhythm guitar, drum programming, Alanparsonsesque sound engineering

Thanks for asking, ldlang! We have completed all the parts with lyrics. Whew! For the NSOTP album (which will no doubt remain on the charts for 1000 weeks), we need to Meddle with the instrumental tracks (Speak to Me, On the Run, The Great Gig in the Sky, Any Colour You Like). I have also written "Part 7 of 6" (to "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2" (which of course isn't on DSOTM)) but I'm not sure if/when to spring that on Bob and Chris.

Congrats on finishing the lyrical efforts! I look forward to seeing "Another Gift from the Mall" (that's a guess, though you should be aware that Jeff and Maya Bohnhoff also have an "Another Brick" parody out there that rhymes to "Mall"; it's about working retail) and listening to the instrumentals. I admit to a bit of OCD-induced frustration that the various FuMP releases have inconsistent titling, but of course that's a consequence of needing to include the NSotP part in the titles. In the full release that wouldn't be necessary. Also, what are you thinking for a cover? Light entering a prism and emerging a candy cane?

Thanks for asking, scifantasy! Blame the inconsistent titles on me. 12 years ago(!) when we posted the first part of this (which was, um, "Parts 5 & 6"), we didn't know if there would be more parts recorded, so I wasn't thinking ahead. Please ask your OCD to accept my apologies.
Thanks for the heads-up on the Bohnhoffs. Fortunately, my take from 17 years ago(!) is different from theirs:

As for the cover, I like your idea. I've had something else visualized since way back when, however. You'll just have to buy buy buy the album to see it. (I mean, obviously, we post our stuff on the FuMP because we're only in it for the MONEY.) (It's no surprise that they're giving none away.)

Of course you're in it for the money. It's a hit--don't give me that goody goody good bullshit.

Ha. One of the many things Pink Floyd taught me is that what Americans call a raise, Brits call a rise.

How many parts are there, for those of us curious and that have lost count?
