*sighs* Furry wasn't always like that. I'm just left scratching my head as to what happened to the fandom. My co-host Tak echoes your sentiment too. She joined the fandom in the 1980s, when it still *meant* cartoons and comic books! Needless to say, she's not in the fandom anymore. As for me, I still occasionally log into FurryMUCK to talk in WCotP, but that's about my extent nowadays. If comedy music fandom ever "turns" on me like that, please someone kill me. *heh*

"3rd Riech" was a song that was rejected for The Sideshow. I kept it in the database in case the artist wanted to talk about it, but marked it as "rejected" so it wouldn't go live. What I didn't know was there was a bug in the Sideshow's RSS generator code that served it up anyway. As soon as I saw that I deleted it from the database. The song is actually not meant to be offensive. It's supposed to be very tongue-in-cheek. Our fears, which apparently you substantiated, was that the song was being taken out of context from its originating podcast and people would be offended by it. I'm really sorry it got onto the feed. The bug has been fixed, so this type of thing won't happen again.

Somewhere out there, Still-Alive Billy Joel's body prepares for that time when he will no longer be with us and rolling in the grave.

Not likely....whoever submitted it did so long before "Furry Fan" went live, judging by the current Sideshow backlog.
UncleLumpy - Oct 16, 2007
Either that or it's some candy-ass' idea of a "statement" of how people who make fun of furries are no different from Nazis. OMG FURSECUTION!!!

"3rd Reich"? Do I WANT to know? O.o My guess would be that it got posted and quickly removed.
Fringe - Oct 16, 2007
What's with the "3rd Reich" song that I got in my feed, also dated today? I found that one quite offensive.
Fringe - Oct 17, 2007
Thanks for the clarification, devospice. As UncleLumpy astutely remarked, it was a bit of a weird perceived message to have a Nazi song and Furry song on the same day.

Oh I love this song! I've played it about 30 times and it keeps getting FUNNIER! I think Uncle Lumpy and I have a similar past and are both fleeing the fandom who's name must never be mentioned. The Burn on Jim Groat is the best. But is so accurate to the present state of that fandom its just perfect. I can't wait to see the spazattacks when it circulates to them. hehehehehehehe,

I've lost track of how many times I've listened to this song <.< I'm a Furry (have yet to go to a Con) but still find this song funny.
